This season is certainly one for the garbage can as the New Olreans Saints have proven that they are indeed the worst football team in the NFL this season after losing to what the football public has made clear was the previous worst team in football in the Carolina Panthers.

Hopes were high that this was a “get right” game for the New Orleans Saints when Carolina made the decision to switch back to Bryce Young at quarterback over the slighty better Andy Dalton and that New Orleans was getting back Derek Carr after a few weeks on the sidelines due to an oblique injury. After a questionable fade away pass down the sidelines to Cedrick Wilson Jr went incomplete on a fourth down, however, those hopes were dashed and it was clear this Saints season is in in the books nine weeks in and a decision had to be made about the future.

Do the Saints pack it in and wait until next season with a high draft pick, or try to salvage as many wins as they can? Thats be up to Darren Rizzy the new Saints interim coach.

It’s hard to come up with anything exciting to describe this latest Saints season, but we can always hope and pray for another win.

Dennis Allen’s firing marks the final change in the end of an era of Saints football that saw the most successful run in club history icluding 7 division titles, three trips to the NFC championship game, and one Super Bowl title.
